Northern Quarter Records is proud to announce its 2017 artist roster; an exciting lineup of diverse and hugely talented young artists, as showcased at our official launch at Matt & Phred’s club in Manchester last week.
Their debut NQ releases will be available in early 2017, when each will also be touring across the country – keep an eye on NQ social media channels for regular updates.
Guitar-driven rock trio Artizans describe themselves as being all about huge riffs, sweaty shows and big vibes. Theirs is a punchy and powerful sound, energetic without being oppressive, and remains unapologetically true to their rock roots.
Flightless Birds have developed a sound unlike any other modern fusion band currently on the scene. Constantly fighting against the boundaries of instrumental music, the trio’s music brilliantly reflects the individual personalities of each member as well as their collective dynamic; masterfully and maturely perfected by constantly innovative young minds.
Kohl is a brand new project from enigmatic singer-songwriter Zoe Stirling, combining the classic folk storytelling of her first musical love Bob Dylan with a more recent fascination with the minimalist and evocative electronic soundscapes of artists such as James Blake and The XX. Stay tuned…
Steal has its origins in frontman Freddie Eggleton’s predominantly soul-based music, which evolved through experiments in a multitude of genres into the ambitious alt-pop soundscapes evidenced on their 2016 eponymous EP and lead single ‘Do You Even Want It’.
Wanderlust’s is a thrilling combination of front woman Eirhanna and lead guitarist Benjie’s contrasting influences, amalgamating the prog rock feel of Pink Floyd and the powerful pop lyricism and melodic writing of Sia. Hypnotic soundscapes, soaring vocals and powerful choruses combine to form a fresh sound not to be underestimated or forgotten.
